Utah Backcountry pilots. utahbackcountrypilots.org I just went to their web page and there is nothing posted. I got it in an email. Rob Hunter put on his Survival seminar for the FAA Safety folks a couple of weeks ago. It was excellent and had some really good info on it. Definitely worth the effort to attend.

He also has a company called Prepared Pilot, which sells survival kits for pilots. They are kind of pricey, but have really good quality items in them. I'd consider buying one if I hadn't already accumulated my own stuff over the years. But it was nice to look at his and see what I am missing or didn't think about. He gave us a list of what he has in his so that you can remember what to add to your own kit or if you wanted to assemble you one on your own.

Like I said, very informative, entertaining, and worth the effort.

Thanks for that I had 2 different dates on my email. I was hoping it was the latter date. I fully support the UBCP but they have pretty poor communications. They sent my email on the 17th and the gathering apparently was on the 18th. I never find out about things until it is too late oparticipate. They do great things and I would like to help. Gary

For those of you that can't attend, here is survival kit contents list that he handed out. It is the content list of the survival kit that he sales. Since I couldn't figure out how to post them here without retyping them all, I was able to find the contents list off of his website. It seems to be a good list to see if one has thought of everything to include in his or her kit.

Stoped by Rib Hunters hanger last spring to shoot the breeze with him. I have all kinds of stuff that Ihave been collecting for the last 40 years. Most of it is a bit heavy cus I was not a pilot. I bought his survival kit cus it gets it all together.

I feel a bit better in Baja when I have it. Down there you need a case of pint size water bottles in the back of the plane cus it is abit dryer than Idaho.
