Over the years there has been an excellent amount of work completed documenting cool strips to visit. However, typically I will select a place to go in a certain region with the understanding after a period of time I need to go on a "supply" run. Trying to find information on regional airports that offer convenient solutions for this task seems hard to find.

With all of that in mind I figured I would share some BETA on the NW MT region with the hope that others would share some BETA on areas they are familiar with.

In NW MT the backcountry strips of Meadow Creek, Spotted Bear, Schafer Meadow, and Ryan Field are most easily served by the Flathead Valley. In the Flathead Valley you pretty much have Kalispell City and Polson airports. Sorry but I exclude Glacier International, PIA. Kalispell City is right next to a store and motel but I'm not sure on the availability of a courtesy car. In Polson you have a free shower that is always accessible in the FBO along with three free courtesy cars for use in the area. There is also a Pilot apartment in Polson that they rent for $50/night that includes a kitchen. Both locations have self serve fuel.
