battery options for certified Maule
Have problems with your aircraft? Maybe just questions about how best to tune or adjust something? Regs or maintenance? Need to know the best way to do something?
This Earth X thread got me thinking that I am due for a new Battery in the M6, the concorde I have in it now has worked well but is at least 5 years old so I figure It's time. I don't see a lot of options for certified aircraft, what suggestions would you guys have? it has the O-540 in it so the more CCA the happier I am.
thanks

Not sure exactly what earthx battery you can use on a Maule but I have an 0-540 out of a Maule and use an earthx battery. At first I used an Odessy battery and it really wasn’t that great, I would get 2 years max out of one. Then I bought an earthx that had more cca and haven’t had a problem since. My battery is mounted on the firewall and has lasted probably 500 hours so far.

I think my problem is that in Canada we do not have field approvals so I think that may not be an option for me at this time. although I could be (and hope) I am wrong. going to head down that path.
Is it the etx-900 you have?

It's what I bought for my 540.

I know of a Canadian M5 that had an earth X in it for some time. But you are correct, legally we can’t do them in Canada yet. You could try the LSTC route, but that takes a lot of time and $$. Honestly I’d just put another Concorde in. 25AXC. Good life and easy.

My last Concorde RG-25XC lasted me ten years. I replaced it last summer with the same type, given that service.
