BBQ C08 July 10th - Westcliffe, Co
Get together with other pilots or enthusiasts. Plan it or get info about it here.
Hey Y'all - We are hosting an informal fly-in BBQ on July 10th. Should be super beautiful and one of the best views of the Sangre De Cristo mountain range you will ever see. Airport is about 65 miles SW of Pueblo Colorado (C08). We will be cooking up burgers and brats and will have an assortment of alcoholic and non-alcoholic, for those of you who are PIC. Gas on the field is an amazing $4.99/gal right now and I'm checking to see if it is going to stay that way.
Now the specifics:
Airport Code: C08
Hangar: #12 - The furthest hangar on the NW side of main taxiway.
Time: July 10, 10:00am
The field elevation is 8290' msl and the runway is 13/31 and is 6954' - So watch your DA's!
It'll be a fun day of locals and people fying in.
Please let me know if you are planning to drop in.
Jim

Awesome Charlie! We just bought hangar 12 - Flew my RV-7 in yesterday from Denver. We're flying to PA tomorrow to pick up our new Husky. It should be fun - Lot's of people flying in from Denver and will have a bunch of locals in too.
Look forward to meeting you!
Jim

Update: There has been a run on the cheap fuel at C08. They are trying to get another load of fuel to the airport. If not you need fuel you may need to divert to Pueblo or Fremont county. Ho-e some of you can make it on Sunday.

Hey Jim, I gotta tow gliders all day Saturday and Sunday here in the PRB, and my airbox is still not back and installed so I'm out. I hope you guys have a wonderful time.
Isn't High Mountain Hay Fever bluegrass festival this weekend in Westcliffe? I'm doubly sorry I"m missing out. I got a great Ron Thomason (Dry Branch Fire Squad) story.
Love it down there! Have fun and be safe!
