Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”

It was a weak moment. I'm over it now.
Thanks for understanding.

Hah! Proof that you don't know me. I'm an apprentice curmudgeon - I'm only 51, so I won't be a journeyman for about 15 years. A guy I know of in Las Vegas (he's a flier, too) has a tee-shirt with his own face on it. The caption reads "I Hate People!" *I* should have one o' those, I think.

Great? Bah! Humbug!

Sorry. I don't have a clever sig yet.

Hey jmtgt! Dynamite and fireworks sounds real good. Beer too, SuperD, but I can't handle stogies anymore. Made myself way too sick last time I smoked one and still can't get back off the wagon! It wasn't the best quality though, and I am sure yours are the finest...

Back to dynamite. There's a guy down in AZ, Iden Greenberg, I believe is how you spell his name, that has a machine gun shoot every year. He ties TNT to posts a couple hundred yards downrange. They're a real challenge with a submachine gun, but when we bring out the Barrett light .50... WHHUUUMPBOOOOOOM! What great fun! Hehehe...

Probably not a great idea for Johnson Creek though.

John,

You have probably seen some of the spud guns out there. Those are always a good time... ;-)

Some of the pneumatics that shoot bottled water are also interesting.

I have found that "Aqua Net" provides the highest muzzle velocity for the aforementioned spud gun ("cannon" may be more appropriate!). I need to go to Home Depot and buy the parts to build a new one! (Brother in NM has the old one...) They also shoot wet immature pine cones very nicely, but the range and energy upon impact is severely reduced. They'll still go over 100 yards fairly accurately though.

Hehehe... I'm kindof embarrased that I know all of this.

Yup... the piezo-electric units work well.

Hey, I know a thing or two about potato cannons. Next time you play paint ball stuff a sock down the barrel and load in about 100 balls. It 'll remind you of a scene from Gettysburg and makes for a great scenario game. Amen to the aqua-net punkin.

You Kalifornicators should move to Arizona. In the middle of the desert you can do what ever you want. I've been to one of those machine gun, dynamite, potato blasting parties, and the biggest hit was a bowling ball cannon. Used an oxygen cylinder as the barrel, some black powder, and a fifteen pound ball. They could launch it nearly out of sight and around half a mile downrange. The ball would whistle as the air hit the finger holes. Good times!
