Bear attack???

Heard a news teazer today on the radio here in San Diego... Went like this" Campers attacked by bear in their tent at Moose Creek Idaho." Needless to say when the words Moose Creek Idaho came on the radio My ears perked up substantially more than they already are. So what about it you Idahoans. What's the scoop. Didn't hear the news story only the teazer. Are they all right and what happened. Too many Cheetos in the tent I gather.

One today in Juneau area too. Bears usually in and out of their den a lot in late fall / early winter before settling down for good.

You are right. It is very dangerous in the Moose Creek area as the article infers. I think San Diego is a lot safer. There are probably not as many bears there. It is beary beary scary.

Haven't heard a thing about it here. 'Course, my dog chases all the bears out of our yard.

There are Grizzlies and Wolves in the Selway, Bitteroot wilderness. Not too many yet.

If you want to know what the backcountry future is you may want to see, if you have not seen, the movie THE EDGE with Anthony Hopkins.

Beary scary

That is why it is beary, beary important that you be careful picking out your copilot or passengers. You have to be able to outrun them. You cannot outrun the bear. They are beary fast.

I own the DVD. I love to watch the Beaver crash over and over, but it's just a plain fun movie. Alec Baldwin is great.

The movie "Mother Lode" has a float plane crash in a mountain lake. I heard the crash was real, pilot was killed, and they rewrote the story to include it.

I'm not far from Moose Creek and haven't heard of a bear attack this fall. It is all winter here now. Lots of snow coming down in the mountains and in the lower valleys like the Selway.

making 'em spin. . .

There are more than one creek in Idaho named "Moose Creek". The Moose Creek you heard about is in south eastern Idaho, near Island Park.

OK I guess that's cleared up. Are there fish in that Moose creek also? :)
