Hey DonC Have you seen this one ,,The GooseSalvage At Port Alsworth,,, Alaska, residents rescue a Grumman Goose from the frozen waters of Lake Clark.

Yep remember that. Port Alsworth not a bad place for that to happen. Mark and Sandy Lang providing lodging and meals. Glen Alsworth and his brother Bee (if they were talking) providing experience for such things.
Could have been worse Don't know if any of them were involved helping them but I bet they were

Mikie Dodge, Atlee Dodge Jr and Mike (Red Dog) Redmond would have had it out same day

If anyone can find the story of Mike Dodge and ( dam can't remember pilots name.) ferrying a goose south and had a double engine failure and landing in gulf of Alaska. what they had to do and to keep it from sinking before being rescued is unbelievable.

Red Dog had his own problems out on the Alaska chain while flying a Goose at night in bad wx running out of fuel and landing next to a fishing boat Think their was something about him having a relative on the boat

Hope someone gets all these stories recorded before they disappear.
