Beringer aircraft brakes

Anyone used these? They look very nicely designed and made. One thing that has caught my eye is the antilock pressure regulator. Also the disc appears to be a floating type, possibly lighter weight.

Bad news is, they are quite expensive. I guess they make a setup for the pilatus porter though as well as larger bushwheel appropriate double caliper kits. Nice to see some advancement in braking systems but hard to justify at 2-3x the price of Grove http://www.beringer.fr/cat/catPlaneUS.pdf

Re: Beringer aircraft brakes

Reading their site, they want to mount your tires to their wheels at their factory, and only have the wheels installed and maintaiend by Beringer-authorized service centers.

They also use the name "Bush Wheel" rather liberally when referring to 26" Goodyears.

Apart from that, yeah, they look sexy. Actually, the open wheel designs look like they'd catch a lot of mud off-airport.

You'd be hosing those wheels out after every flight. Maybe catch a small trout though if you're lucky?

I admit, the red anodizing attracts me like any shiny thing. Hard to spend money on French wares when there's a perfectly good (and cheaper) option in San Diego.
