My favorite restraunts as a boy of seven were Bob's Big Boy and the Tick Tock, both on Riverside Drive. The Tick Tock got its name cus there were probably 200 pluss clocks in the place and on the hour the place came alive with koo Koos and bells of all sorts.
My all time favorite was the Sky Room in the second floor of the Lockheed Air Terminal. Now that was my favorite treat and if you got a window booth then life was at its finest. Night operations at an airport for a seven year old boy were just the best. You have to remember that Lockheed was the busiest airport on the west coast back then. To watch DC3's and Cony's take off at night was a delite.
While in Burbank a while back I was going through a few things of mine and found this. Getting a bit misty now.

You should be able to see that the menu is on a P-38 outline. I can taste the roll an marmalade as I type.
Thought I would share a memory of my past that is flying related.
