I have a Pastor friend battling cancer and I am going to take him fishing this summer in late August. What is the best fly-in lodge to fish at in late August, Idaho backcountry? Sulfer, Flying B or where. I will be flying him in abord by TU206. Any thoughts are greatly appreciated. Scott

Sulphur! They have everything there and great food! They even have a stocked pond. And you can arrange a horse back rides. And great views.

The best easily accessible? Creek? Lake?
Easily accessible:
Creek:
Cabin Creek. The more you walk, the better it gets in any direction. Kelly Creek can be better, but the strip is tight-ish.
Slough: Cold Meadows. Lots of brookies within 5 mi of strip. There are other world class opportunities nearby but it is serious work to reach them.
Lake: Fish Lake. Slow fishing, but great scenery and hiking.

It is on the Idaho/Montana border, but don't forget the West Fork Lodge. Really great fishing, food, flying, and rooms. R
