Which Maule is the Best. I fly am M5 180C. I like it much better than the MXT-7. I hear the M5 210 is a plum. What do you guys think?
I saw the new M9 at SNF. Brent Maule has been listening, there are major improvements on the way.

It all depends on the mission. The 4's and 5's are faster but the 6,78, and 9 have more wing and there fore more lift area so ......
Blablablabla...
Mine is the best

Well of course the M4 is the classic what with the rounded tail but all those good looks aside, I am still in awe of a design from the 60's that'll cruise at 125kts or so, haul 900-1000 lbs or so and still get in and out of 500 or so feet of dirt.
Beyond that, mine is the best...

The best Maule has the wings, fuselage. tail group and powerplant of a 220hp Cessna 170B.

Didn't mention anything about the pilot though...

That would require a field approval. Just ask Beaver. He knows! Hehehe
Sorry, couldn't resist, guys!

my maule showed me 3 grizzly bears, 3 moose, a coyote, and a dozen bald eagles today after work.
so i'm gunna say mine is the best
...but any other maule with patroller doors would have worked just fine too.
do they make one that can stop in mid-air so i can take pictures?

I agree with these guys. Mine's the best!
I have a M5 180C also. Great plane. I chose it because it seemed the best balance between power and capability. There is no doubt the bigger engines will get bigger butts off the ground (wheee!) but there is really not all that much difference in cruise and the fuel economy is much better. I see 7.9 to 8.5 gph around the patch.

I like the newer M4-180 2 seater,at least I did when they announced the around-$100K price. Pretty damn reasonable for a new airplane, esp when an equivalent Husky or Top Cub is going for $160-200K. Unfortunately that 100K-ish price tag is now in the $129K-139K range, according to an ad I saw a few months ago. But still cheaper than the competition.
I wonder if Maule has any plans to produce an LSA?
