Lionel Carpenter, owner, turned 89 today (9/4/13). He just bought a very nice PA-11 last week. Lionel would like to celebrate both events in conjunction with the La Garita Creek Ranch fly-in 9/20/22 (more info at http://www.flycolorado.org). He has invited everyone to Morning Shadows. Come and go as you wish, he will be there all weekend. I think it would be a great day to visit Lionel from LGCR in the morning, then head to the Sand Dunes Pool for lunch. Don't forget the San Luis Valley Pilots Assn breakfast fly-in at Creede (C24) sunday 9/22. MJ's Restaurant will be catering, awesome food!

Thanks Tom for arranging this with Lionel. Morning Shadows (CD69) is a truly unique place. This will be another great side-trip for those staying at La Garita Creek Ranch during the Fly-in on Sept. 21st.

A late Happy Birthday to Lionel Tom. What an inspiration to us all and I'm excited to see him at the fly-in.

Also, we are all very thankful that he opens his private backcountry airstrip for us to enjoy!
