Big Deal Over a Little Strip?

I was tempted to contact to email address listed in the link in the second article in support of the "money man." Seems like a bunch of cranky neighbors getting upset for no good reason and wanting to shut down another airport/airstrip?

"The Friends of the SNRA are a group of advocates, neighbors of Boren’s, area businesses, property owners throughout the SNRA, and other concerned citizens who want to take action to see the values protected for which the SNRA was created. We have raised funds for an attorney to fight the airport and we need your help to continue taking action."

Step 2: Speak at the Public Hearing
The hearing is scheduled for August 25, 2021, 7:00PM in Challis Bus transportation from Stanley is being organized. Testimony at the hearing is a maximum of 5 minutes and you must sign up to speak at the door.

How great would it be to have a bunch of local pilots show up and speak in support of him?

The quotes from the neighbors are nauseating.

What a bunch of cry babies. If it's the place I think it is, it's less then a mile from the highway. Hardly pristine wilderness.

Re: Big Deal Over a Little Strip?

Friends of the SNRA are not a new group, they've been around a while. They think everyone should help them live out their personal fantasy of living in a pristine wilderness area, but fail to recognize that their entire lifestyle is supported by other people's money in one form or another. They were in the news recently trying to stop a cell site south of Stanley because "those of us who live here have never had cell phones and don't want them, it's just for the tourists to use", without tourists the entire town would not exist.
