Bit the bullet...

So, after some time away from it all, including BCP, I finally bit the bullet and bought a share in a nice 1965 206 on floats in Sweden. And I'm glad I did! Sweden is the only place in Europe where you can basically go and land anywhere. There's a great little seaplane base in the capital of Stockholm, about 15 mins drive from downtown. Just minutes away is the Stockholm archipelago, which reminds me of the San Juan Islands off of Seattle, but with way more islands. The other direction, about 90 mins flying are the mountains. It is just paradise! I posted some photos on the Summer 2014:float flying pics thread. Do check them out!

Youre going to love that 206...they are a great, load hauling and comfortable seaplane. Does it go on skis in winter?

Re: Bit the bullet...

Thanks guys! Yeah, the 206 is pretty nice. Two things though (aren't there always two things?!?): no copilot side door + the fact that the cargo door doesn't work with the flaps down, and those pesky electrical flaps. The 185 is still king for me! Unfortunately no plans for skis. I am trying to talk the guys into putting skis on for the winter, but no joy yet. I'm not giving up!

Re: Bit the bullet...

Once you yes the cargo door on the 206 you won't want to go back to loading a 185! But ya no door on the right sucks for docking. Drop the plane and about 20g off at whip air and they can fix that tho.
