Black Rock Desert

On June 5th I will be leaving late in the afternoon for Provo, UT. I would like to spend the night at Frog Pond Hot Spring at he edge of Black Rock Desert about 10 miles NE of Gerlach, NV. Does anybody have any idea what the surface conditions are. Be a bummer to get the plane stuck in the mud, not to mention the fast stop preceding that.

Tim,

Try and see if there are any updated reports on the Burning Man forums. I heard that some people went camping out there for Memorial Day weekend, but that was just through the grapevine.

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”

Well I guess Black rock is out. Anybody land at Alvord Desert this year.
