See you there. I'll be putting on a little demo of how to patch fabric.

That's saturday? Do you know the schedule for events?

We'll probably show up after breakfast at Sanford. Don't know if I can convince the wife to hang around until dinner.

Sad to see the 195 like that, although I saw photos of it back upright before I saw these.
Ironically great shot of someone's birddog in the same batch of photos.

They must have crunched the wingtip rolling it back over.

Nope, machine operator and member of the Bowman Field Field Flying Club did a spot on up-righting of the 195. Wing tip damage was a result of the nose over.

Excellent! Good operators are like good pilots. Something to appreciate.

Re: Bowman Field Fly-In, Maine

The pilot and passenger were both unscathed except for a scratch on the head. Not 100% certain about the chain of events leading to the nose over but a private pilot eyewitness said that the PIC bounced the initial touchdown, although not severly. Upon touching the ground for the second time the wheels apeared locked and were skidding along the grass and then the 195 nosed right on over in slow motion. Equal damage to pride and pocket book I would imagine, I felt bad for the guy and was happy to see that no one was hurt.
