Looking for help interpreting something in the brake section of the Luscombe TCDS (page 12). Few years ago a Luscombe guru pointed out to me that item (b) only lists a ply rating for tires and not a size, ie. you can run any size you want. I've asked a few people what they thought; some agree, others don't. I know ultimately it is up to the guy doing the annual but I am still interested in what you guys think.

Yes, I am looking at this as a way to get bushwheels on my Luscombe.

Wheels (Silflex cantilever landing gear instln. moves the location (+ 3) of the main wheels 2 in. forward resulting in a location from datum
of +1. See item 213 for Silflex landing gear).

(a) 3 in. with brakes (Goodyear 3LMBM) and
(1) 16 x 7-3 tires (4-ply)
(2) 18 x 8-3 tires (4-ply)
(b) 6.00-6 with brakes (Shinn 6C5B) and 4-ply tires
(c) 6.00-6 (Cleveland model 6.00 DMB) with 6.00-6 4-ply rating tire casing and regular tube
