Bridgeport (O57) Breakfast Feb. 26th...

So, how about a Breakfast at Bridgeport (Bryant Field O57) in Feb?

Anybody interested?

I know we have Furnace Creek coming up on the 28th of Jan. but for those that need to get something on the schedule, I thought we could at least look at a few dates.

For me (if anybody cares) the end of the month would be better, say the 18th or the 25th. Monday the 20th is Presidents Day and a holiday for most, if that figures into anyones plans.

I think that would be fun. It was a good time last year, although there were only a few of us. Short walk to breakfast, and beautiful flights over the snowy mountains. I'll probably just bring a 172 from Reno. Later feb works better for me.

John,

I haven't mentioned to the Maule.mod crowd yet but probably could if we wanted to get some more people involved. I'm thinking the 25th unless somebody has a conflict. That sound good?

John,

Fine with me. Let's do the 26th on Sunday. If that fits into Zane's tough ski schedule of course. ;-)

Bump to the top and a reminder that we are scheduled to meet at Bridgeport (O57) on the 26th for breakfast. Come one, come all. I will personally buy the breakfast of the person that travels the furthest. (Sorry John) ;-)

HaHa, I don't think so. Matter of fact, I better not see you sneaking around my plane with a butter knife. ;-)

I will have to see if I can get a plane for that day. Just glancing at the sectional it looks like it's probably around 200NM for me. Shouldn't take too long in the Archer or T-41C.

Breakfast update...

February is a slow month for the lazy little town of Bridgeport and our choices of breakfast spots is limited. Matter of fact they actually all close except one and they rotate every year as to which restaurant will stay open. This year it is the Rhino Bar and Grille. For those that haven't been there, it is on the North East corner of main street and the road that goes out to the airport. I have talked with them today and told them we would probably be arriving around 10:00 am and they are looking forward to our arrival (probably not as much as they will appreciate our departure  ). Hopefully the weather will cooperate and we can do some grippin' ad grinin'...

I'm starting to feel like George Clooney in O' Brother Where Art Thou.

"Can't I depend on you people for anything?"

BTW, Bridgeport was spectacular yesterday. I was originally headed for Lone Pine but southern Sierra's were obscured in residual snow showers, so I headed north to Bridgeport. Lee Vining runway was covered in snow. Bridgeport had been plowed but ramp still had snow. Lunch at Rhino's was great. I took a bunch of pictures of the Sierra's and Sonora Pass etc. I'll have to share them with the group that shows up next Sunday. ;-)

Actually, now is the time to do your annual. That way it won't cut into spring flying. Good luck on the rest of yours John.

Zane,

Does your visit include gravity and anti friction devices on a frozen surface? ;-)

The truth will set you on the path to being free

Well I guess I shouldn't have shot my mouth off about John and Zane not being able to make it. I had a some cracks in the top coat on my elevators that was going to take a day to fix. Turns out all the tape was put on wrong and the only thing holding everything together was the silver and top coat. Elevators are off and on the bench. Tapes will have to be removed and redone. Then they'll have to be refinished. At least the envelopes look good at this point. Long story short, I have no transportation for Bridgeport this weekend. Hopefully I can get the elevators finished and back on sometime next week.

Have fun in Bridgeport. The Sierra's are spectacular right now.

Well dangit!! Oh well, if we keep planning this, it's like throwing mud at the wall-- eventually some is gonna stick.

Mark, the good skiing is here in Tahoe. I am actually driving AWAY from the good skiing to go visit the family. My grandpa turned 90 last week, so I need to pay a visit. Plus, the weather is nice. There is a slim chance Jr might come down to Grants Pass for a visit if the weather holds. Gonna install my EDM-700 finally, too.

Yesterday I delivered a machine to EKO then landed at Alamo pressed on to Coyote Springs then on to Echo Bay. Still running ahead of schedule I went to Temple Bar and something ferry. Over to St. George and then Mesquite and over to VGT to pick up MLB. Headwinds on the way home meant almost 3 hrs. So I guess my point is MLB has had enough flying for awhile so I'm not going to Bridgeport to have breakfast by myself :!:

DR,

If I had the elevators done I would be there but no such luck. BTW, as soon as I get the Maule back in the air I will hop over the hill to pay you a visit.

If you go tommorrow have fun...
