C-180 Prop, what is it?

Can someone tell me about this prop? It's on a C-180 and was overhauled in 1994 and has 790 hours on it.
McCauley
The model no. Is 2A34C203
Blade is 90DCA-2
Hub is 742019
Blade B33172 and K31070

Not sure if this is an 88", or a black mac, or a normal one, or a pile of dung, etc.....

Thanks.

That's the standard 88" "seaplane" prop that people seem to like. If it hasn't had the oil conversion done then expect to do that at the next overhaul.

I found out the oil conversion has not been done.

So, when would I overhaul this prop?

Sounds like it is kinda spendy to overhaul and oil convert.

I'm used to borer props. Plug, play, and occasionally file...

Re: C-180 Prop, what is it?

Couple years ago I was looking for an 88"C203, couldn't find one so I bought a timed-out 88" C201 instead.
Overhaul & converting the hub to oil filled was $3,983 at AC Prop in Seattle.
Converting to oil filled at overhaul is mandatory per McCauley.

Just like Continental, McCauley hs both an hour and a calendar TBO.
Not mandatory for part 91 ops, but it's worth consideration.
A lot depends on what your IA is wiling to on off.

FWIW I can't recommend AC Prop highly enough. Good work, quick turnaround (usually!),
and Mike Worden who owns the place is super to work with.

X2-AC Prop SEA. -Mikes the man. When you go in the shop there are lots of props that have been shipped down from Alaska. That might tell you something. =D> =D>
