C-182 converted to C-180

Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?

C-182 converted to C-180

OK crew....I've got a 1959 C-182-B that I am very happy with mechanically.....straight low time airframe, low time engine and prop, Horton Stol.....overall just a great airplane. Only thing, I'd like it to be a 180. So...does anyone know of a mechanic or airframe shop that has experience changing the gear arrangement on Cessnas. I'd like to talk to someone with actual experience with this mod, to get an idea of cost and what a reasonable amount of time a project like this should take. I have other planes to fly, so having this one tied up for a while won't be an issue.

Thanks for any information,

NV

Dave-

Go see Herb at Beckworth / Nervino. He has done it several times. He does a great job.

Contact me via PM. I own a tailwheel conversion STC for the 172>170 conversion, and I am planning to have the 182>180 conversion added to it. I will eventually be looking for a test aircraft to do the prototype conversion on. You could save a pretty serious chunk of change (compared to other options) by being my guinea pig if you're interested.
