C-182 crash near Emmett Idaho, minor injuries

http://www.idahopress.com/news/plane-cr ... 002e0.html

Different news stories have differnt versions of the crash, but they all agree it was an egine failure/forced landing with minor injuries and major crumpled sheet metal.
When the engine quit he landed in a freshly mowed hay field, long, wide, level, smooth, no obstructions, should have been perfect to land on. Except it was freshly irrigated, very wet, and very soft. From the touchdown point he slid to a stop in about 20 yards. One news photo showed what appears to be his right main wheel and tire, seperated from the gear leg.

Should have had BushWheels. I still have an airplane because I did have them.

That looks like the Skydive plane at Redtail/Canyonlands. Glad he walked away.

The old straight-tail should be airworthy in a few weeks.

From picture appears to be 1957 .Perfect candidate for tail wheel conversion .I have most of the parts to fix this one if it comes up for bid (insurance ) ---I'll try and get it. I was planning on going to Emmit ,Idaho this week ---awaiting funds from job to go on vacation ,Might make harmonica convention in Yellow Pine,Or just go hang out in the trees and cool .Hows the fishing at Cabin Creek ?Need some release from the heat and hustle and bustle .

If you are asking, "Where is Hubbler Field", I think that is the landing strip near Middleton, ID.

Yes! When your on the 45 for runway 30, you more than likely will fly right over Hubler. It's right along the south side of the Boise River just a little southwest of Middleton (about 2 miles).
