C-185 Throttle Linkage

Took my (new to me) '61 linkage apart on an IO-470...needs replacing to say the least. Cannot find a part number to start with for the pushrod that links the throttle bell crank to the throttle arm. 1961 185 parts catalog ends at the bell crank and the 470 catalog begins at the throttle arm, the linkage between the two however seems to have been lost in the matrix. Any ideas from the community? Relatively easy to find a replacement out of the sum of parts around however would be awful nice to find the correct whatchamacallit.

You’ll have to go to the Continental parts catalogue for that if I’m understanding you correctly.

Check the anchor bracket where the mixture and throttle cables sheathes attach to the rear of the engine also. They tend to wear out. Very expensive, but I’ve seen them hand crafted from 4140 sheet material.

Re: C-185 Throttle Linkage

Cost prohibited to buy new from Cessna if they even have one. Brackets crack from vibration in the radius of the bends. Definitely build a new improved one as an owner produced part. Aircraft Spruce is your friend for raw 4130 sheet stock and hardware. I used monel rivets on the ones I have built. Might be over kill. Takes some time, but worth it in the end. Nice tight no slop linkage.
