Someone posed this question to me and I figured there might be some real world experience here that could shed some light on it.

Has anyone flown a C-185 that has all of these mods: Robertson, Sportsman, VG's, and either Flint Tip Tanks or Wing-X? Curious on behavior and any real world stats. Year and ACTUAL weight would also be handy.

I'm not interested in anything other than someone's experience with exactly what I have described, so please keep all the other BS to yourself unless you have flown this airplane. I know this will be difficult for some of the blowhards here.

Well I might puff a bit - but will not blow hard - no 185 exp. but have flown 180 with wing-X.
My friend put on the Wing-X for the load improvement. Did not notice a whole lot if difference with our the -
usual- if ya can close the doors it will fly scenario. Had to notch his hanger to get the tips in.

BUT - get it light and slow - and it was another beast. more like landing and old Taylorcraft F-19 / F-21 in a cross wind. Get is slow and any cross wind would try to pick up the wind ward wing. which did in fackt happen to him and a lady friend coming in on McCall runway - 16.

I have flown a 185 with all of those mods except the Robertson. It was on floats.

Willie Stein (Stein Aviation) has two A185F's. One outfitted like you describe the other like you describe sans Robertson. Both with WingX and Sportsman. When I was discussing with him what wing mods to put on my A185F he told me he really liked the Robertson one when on floats, preferred the one without when on wheels. Give him a call. He loves to talk airplanes.
