I swear I saw a picture of a Cessna 206 which had been converted to conventional gear. Everyone wants a C180/C185. Would it be more feasable to convince an established company to work on a conversion gear STC for the 206? Or is there truely no need for a taildragger when you get that big (weight) for an airplane to land on taildragger terrain.
I see newer C172s which have the back windows which are for sale that have been converted to conventional gear.
Just a thought.

In my humble opinion, it is a crime to convert any swept-tail Cessna. The straight tails are fair game.

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”

Have as much Fun as is Safe, and Keep SMILIN! GT,
I think you would have to reskin the entire empenage aft of the cabin because it would be to thin for serious backcountry ops. Might be faster without the nosewheel.

And, why would you screw up an airplane that will currently go anywhere a tailwheel airplane will, and carry more freight? And, with less pilot skill required.
