Re: C-207 performance

Lake Meade Air had Serial # 1 Cessna 207 and about 1/2 dozen more 207's. Performance -think of a school bus with 6 cylinder motor going up a hill . I sold and delivered a 207 to Tok,Alaska from Mesa,AZ. years back--- a long and boring trip at 110 knots all day long .At light load it preformed well but not fantastic by any means. The 207 was a 206 with 2 plugs -one forward of wing another aft. back seats were for kids or really small people. When they loaded tourist for trip to Canyon mech. would hold up tail while pilot went around to get in front seat .If they didn't hold tail up sometimes nose would come off ground and look like a taildragger. Best 207 comes with turbine that really makes it a machine .I've seen one with floats and turbine in Alaska .

Re: C-207 performance

Was doing a little planning for kayak trips this spring and ran across a section in one of my books that talked about aircraft shuttles. It said a turbo 207 could haul 3 boaters and all their gear. It then listed the prices to fly out of salmon to various places...including Lower Loon.

This info is from back in the day when boats were 10 feet long and the salmon to Lower loon shuttle cost 160 bucks.
