C66 Propeller, O 470L & PPonk Super Eagle

Help please!!!!

Yes, many have field approvals for a C66 on the Pponk engine. I ran that way for about five years, worked great.

The 86" 401 that replaced it pulls noticeably harder; but is heavier, more expensive, and slower by a few knots.

Although currently running an MT, my O-470-50 is made from an 'L' core, and I did have a C66 field approved to it. Shortfielders O-470-50 also had a C-66.

On a nose heavy airplane, this actually may be a better choice than some of the heavy 3 blade props more often used...
all depends on the mission...

Ours is a L core also. With the PPonk I really don't think I will need the 3 blade take off performance as I climb out very well now witht he 230 hp, even at max gross. Appreciate the advice guys; the C66 seems like it will fit our needs. Lots of cross country and lots of local flights around the Puget Sound with not much off airport stuff.

Thanks.................TOM
