camp chairs

I am looking for recomendations on camp chairs. Would like to find a well made camp chair, that sits higher than most, to accomodate my long legs. Most chairs I have encountered sit too low and have not held up. Have any of you guys seen such a chair? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks Steve

Re: camp chairs

Steve, I am 6-5, 220 and went through those things quickly. I found some heavy duty (300-350# capacity) at Wal-Mart I think. These have held up well. They don't sit any higher though. Here is how I carry them. Left one is HD and right one is the wife's regular size.

I use "Apple Boxes " about 10 lbs -capable of holding you or yor airpllane off the ground. Good for checking fuel caps or whatever. I see them on the internet for 20-30 bucks. I got mine from Movie crews in L.A where they use them to support everything ,Lights, actors, camera's etc.

Re: camp chairs

I ended up ordering a Coleman chair, as it's specs showed it sitting higher than any other brand. Am still open to trying another brand for the second chair, for comparisons sake. I will use these chairs mostly for remote ice fishing adventures and can just invision having one giving out as I am jumping up to pull out "the big one". Walleye season ended Tuesday and the ice is starting to get questionable, so we will have to wait another 8 months to try them out. Thanks for the replies. Steve
