Canadian AME needed in Oregon

Does anyone know of any Canadian AME's located in Oregon. Transport Canada says there are a few but will not give out names or adressess due to "privacy".

We need to hire one to look at a Stinson that we are trying to get imported.

Thanks.

Brian.

Brian, don't know about your area, but know of a CDN AME/U.S.A. I.A. in the Colorado area. Don't know if he'd travel that far, but if nothing else turns up, let me know.

Also thanks a BUNCH for Supercub W&B information: A big help.

There is an examiner in Portland, off MacAdam Avenue just south of downtown.

Dr. Taro

Nice guy.

Re: Canadian AME needed in Oregon

zpilot, as a point of clarification, to paraphrase (Winston Churchill, I think?), the USA and Canada are two nations divided by a common language.

The acronymn "AME" in Canada refers to "Aircraft Mechanical Engineer", which is what Bryan was asking about, rather than to "Aviation Medical Examiner" in the U.S.A. Easy mistake to make, don't feel badly.

ZPilot....

Easy mistake.... my AME (Medical Examiner) owns 6 airplanes of which three I work on. The other three are two homebuilts and a Bonanza.... I don't work on Bananza's.

Hey There Cousin CubScout..... Need to talk at you more often... :D
Will probably try your guy and call another lead I got the other day....

Thanks.

Brian, I'll ring up my AME friend in the morning, to sound out interest, will let you know results, and pass along as appropriate. Plus we've got email....

Re: Canadian AME needed in Oregon

You may want to contact these folks: http://www.pamea.com/ Pacific Aircraft Maintenance Engineers association

It may be easier-faster to get someone to hop on a plane from Vancouver,Pitt Meadows, Langley, etc. and do the inspection.

Re: Canadian AME needed in Oregon

Thanks for the replies...

After many call we found one. And believe it or not he is a local boy. Works for Ericson Air Crane as an A&P and a AME.
Coming over next week to look at the airplane...

Thanks again.

Brian, really glad that worked out so well. =D> It's interesting how many resources are in our own backyards, if we just knew. I've made some interesting connections/solved issues through online forums like this one.
