Just finished the extended baggage and got the rudder and elevator cables installed this week. Stringers, fuel system, floorboard, rudder pedals, torque tube, etc... all done. Wings are assembled, boot cowl is in progress, and getting closer to fabric. Sure is fun.

Re: Carbon Cub ELSA Build Progress

Well, I should add that this build is happening at 7S3 (Starks Twin Oaks) in Hillsboro, OR, and the owner of the airport is a Cub Crafters dealer. If anyone is interested in taking a look at the kit in progress they would sure be welcome to stop by. This one is going on amphib floats when done, but there is another Carbon Cub on the field on wheels that I fly pretty regularly (it's the dealer demo plane), and if anyone is really interested in a closer look at these planes I would be happy to take them for a ride sometime, Just shoot me a PM.

And if I can answer any questions about the kit build here on the forum, don't be shy about asking. :D

I would love to fly in and check it out if this fog ever goes away. Where are you located on the field.

Re: Carbon Cub ELSA Build Progress

Cool project and nice photos.
I am just 2 days into covering my project, so we're in the same boat.
I saw one of these take off from my local on New Years day, it sure didn't need a lot of runway...
Keep us posted.

Re: Carbon Cub ELSA Build Progress

Just curious about:

1) What do you estimate will be your build time on this?

2) Am I correct in that CC does not offer a quick build kit and you basically get a "standard kit"

Thanks

Re: Carbon Cub ELSA Build Progress

Looks to me that the "standard" kit is pretty darn close to a "quick build" compared to many other kit planes.
