So, I think I've decided to sell my 1/2 share of a Mooney and get a real airplane. The Mooney (M20K 252, with Encore upgrade), is an absolutely wonderful airplane, and served me well when I was commuting regularly to the Bay Area from Seattle. But as I don't need to make that commute any more, an all-weather personal airliner isn't something I need, and it can't go to the places I like to go. My dream airplane is a Carbon Cub, however my budget does not allow for $180K+ for one. I'm more in the range of $100K, and was wondering if anyone is interested in a partnership on a new Carbon Cub based either at KRNT or KBFI? Alternatively I think I could get a nice Super Cub in that price range.

Don't think you'll have any trouble selling your share, the beer in the hanger fridge will be the clinger. But in my opinion, partnerships may be a problem when it comes to bush planes, they are just simply way too much fun, and if your partner gets addicted too (which is highly likely) there is going to be problems. Plus, a plane that can take you to incredible places, becomes personal, its something you don't want to share with others, sort of like a wife or dog...or cat in my instance. There are many great options in the <100k range, and she will be all yours, ready and waiting, when ever you want her.

100K will get you a heck of a nice SuperCub! I'm looking for a Cub/Husky now... When I sold my Maule, I got a bonanza and had planned on landing it at some back-country strips because the landing gear can handle a ton... In the end, my Bo is so pretty I can't stand to get it dirty...

A 160HP PA-18 with the mods is on my list, as is a Husky A1-B with the new style wing...

There's several Super Cub's on Barnstormer's in the 100k range that look great, I'd jump on one of those over a partnership any day on a backcountry plane. I'm not good at sharing, especially on nice flying days.

My DNA code is written like this "...Trust no one..". If I had that kind of budget, there would be no issues purchasing a great conventional gear aircraft without a partner. It may take some time.

I get nervous when somebody gets within (10) feet of my aircraft!
