I might like to do this, although not this decade. Something to think about for later on.

What does this job entail? Do the more remote strips like Moose Creek have caretakers too? Or are those USFS employees?

The State of Idaho has paid caretakers on a few State strips, the USFS has volunteer guest hosts in some places, Moose Creek being one. The paid caretakers are responsible for watering, mowing the strips, some garbage collection.
