Kent,
Lots of input about cargo pods for the Husky at Flyhusky.com
Little if any speed loss, 27 pounds empty, will carry around 160 pounds if I remember correctly $3,650 from Airglas in Anchorage. Other than cost and 27 pounds empty weight, there are no negatives.

My belly pod works great with floats on. Everything stays dry and you keep the weight where you want it.

My wife thinks the belly pod is the best mod for the Husky. She loves it. I find it handy to haul salmon and moose quarters and then hose it down so Bumper's bears don't get too attracted to it. Two thumbs way up for the belly pod.

Me and a buddy flew our Huskies up to Idaho last year. Long flight from Texas. The first stop was with Hitchcock Aviation where we had cargo pods placed on both birds. Excellent service from Todd Hitchcock and Shuan from Performance Aero who placed the pods on the Huskies.
We were only down 1 1/2 days and off to the backcountry. The pods allowed for better CG, as we could place heavier equipment up front in the pods. Hauling extra fuel is not a concern now for fear of leaking. We thought we would take them off when we went home but to this day they are still on the birds and now we are getting ready to go back to Idaho again.
I speak speak highly enough of the pod

Great pic!! love it.
I designed and made this cargo pod for a mate with a Rans S7 here in NZ. He's kept his wife happy bringing back crayfish and whitebait from various locations around the South Island in it!!

and when he's done, it cleans out real easy and he can pack his camp chairs and other junk in there nicely!
