Cavanaugh Bay

Does anyone know if the Cavanaugh Bay strip is open yet on Priest Lake?? I was told last year that it was going to be regraded with new grass for this year. Anyone know what the status is?

Re: Cavanaugh Bay

Still closed. I think I heard that it was planned to be open in May sometime. It is notam'd.

Looks like they're going to take a look at it in May. Check this winter's Rudder Flutter Newsletter.

Re: Cavanaugh Bay

Just got an email reply about Cavanaugh Bay and was informed that they are looking at the second week in June for opening the strip with the new grass.

Re: Cavanaugh Bay

I was hoping to go there next week, but was told that they're still a few weeks away from opening. Bummer.

I guess we'll just have to keep checking.

Aahhhh bummer! I was planning on being there next week. What's the source of the update? Not that I don't believe you, but I would like some confirmation. Time to start working on a backup plan I guess.

I called the resort there on the phone and that is what they told me. They have a web site with phone number.

Re: Cavanaugh Bay

Just noticed that the "closed" notam has been cancelled for Cavanaugh Bay, so I presume it is now open. The boss and I are planning on being in there around 7/27 to stay for a few days. No forest fires! [-X

Re: Cavanaugh Bay

yes, it is open. I posted the info elsewhere around here but damned if I can remember where!

The new showers and bathrooms will NOT be ready until the end of July, so plan on a couple of huckleberry Margaritas at the resort and a bath in the lake! :D
