Was thinking of heading to Cavanaugh Bay this weekend and was wondering how the visibility has been due to smoke. Also, thinking of flying to Sullivan Lake, Sandpoint and Magee airstrip. If anybody has been there recently and can give me a pilot report. that would be great!!!
Thanks,
Jim

No smoke- Just blue skies with a few scattered puffy clouds. A bit windy right now. 15 gusting to 20-25. A weak front passed through this morning. Just REAL dry and heat scorched. I believe there is a prohibition on camp fires in the back country currently. Might want to check if you're thinking of camping.

Where are you coming in from? If from the west consider stopping at Republic (R49) where they have a really nice flyin this weekend beginning today and running through Sunday.

Thanks for the report. I am coming in from 1W1 Camas/Grove. I saw the Republic fly Inn is happening. Might be able to drop inn as I will be at Sullivan Lake.

The Noisy Fire was just east of Sullivan Lake, and was putting up a lot of smoke earlier in the summer. Have the rotorwings cleared out? I heard several were on the airstrip in mid July or thereafter.

Spoke with the State airports manager and he said Sullivain is open and no TFR's.
Maybe some smoke.

Any trip to Cavanaugh Bay is worth a side trip to Sullivan Lake. One of my favorite strips. A real Washington/PNW gem.

Did the restaurant at Cavanaugh re-open? Heard it had closed last summer, was a great place to hang out on the deck at sunset!

Very minimal smoke compared to last week. Restaurant is open again! Had a great lunch there Friday. I just have a short hop over from ID25. Quite a few people camping there for the weekend. Several had table top BBQ grills so those must be allowed but I doubt campfires would be.
