We had an awesome time! It was good to see old friends and meet new ones. Thanks to Rod, Paula, Hunter, and Gary for putting this together. We are almost back home to California. We stopped and camped at Pops' favorite hotsprings in the middle of Nevada. Now we are getting breakfast in Minden and getting hastled for parking in the grass.

Re: Caveman Fly In 2012

Hi BCP'ers.

We had a great time connecting with old friends and meeting new people this weekend. Thanks to everyone for such a good time and the help when I needed to push the plane out of the compound.

We look forward to next yr.

Here is a short video that hopefully captures the moment of Caveman Fly-In. (except for the howling and shooting that took place).

Re: Caveman Fly In 2012

What a great fly-in! It was good to meet people you only see online, and to see those we've met in the past as well. Many thanks to the Tangrens for hosting this awesome shin-dig, and to Gary for putting it all together. I'm putting a video together, but it won't cover everything as we had to leave early. Bummer. Here's a few pictures though:

Here are a bunch of pictures from the weekend. Some of them are of my trip there and back. It was tons of fun and I want to thank the Caveman Ranch for providing such a beautiful venue for our flying enjoyment.

Re: Caveman Fly In 2012

Checking my GPS I see that, not including stops, it took me exactly 7.1 hours to get home to Bend, Oregon yesterday. That includes flying a bit in the opposite direction to get fuel at Canyonlands. I'm glad the weather was cooperative.

Let's not forget Ladd and Steve at Mack. They did an awesome job at the BBQ and pumped a ton of discount gas.
All in all, a great fly-in.
Glad to meet a bunch of interesting flyers.

Argh! Looks like everyone had a great time and got home safe. I'm so bummed my trip East ended at the UT border (Garrison). :x Can't wait to see y'all at JC! I plan on having a chat with my prop before then to make sure it will cooperate for that trip. [-X

All these great pictures are causing me to loose focus on building a house here in Moab. Lisa is even on board with figuring out how to get us a plane!

Blu put us on a great sand bar on the Green River, I think. Though I was a little scrambled from the steep canyon turns. ;-)
