CAVU and VIRBing (have a question about resolution)

June gloom. Oregon has the thickest coastal fog (Spring/Summer) I have ever witnessed. Typically burning off by early noontime. Everything is soaked: Tent, aircraft, clothes, sunglasses etc etc... (100% Humidity!) unreal!

Low IFR (But only on the coast!)

Re: Low IFR in my usual off-airport scenario

All the crap hanging on the helicopter dried! Air is very dry right now (after about 10:00PDT).

Haha!! Fog dissipated and another VFR fantastic day! Tried to VIDEO a twin Beech Travelair with the GARMIN VIRB camera. The default resolution in YouTube is not good for fast moving. Any ideas to get better WYSIWYG?

Please give comments on how to better the quality for moving scenes! Thank you.

NOTE: Don’t try this at home. Highly skilled professional pilots and ground crew only!

I routinely play with 2 VIRB's a classic and a new ultra-30, always set them to 1080 resolution, 30 frames per second, max digital zoom, and image stabilization on. Usually get good results, just that I don't try to get any video of anything that is not close or large.

Thank you Dale,

The original MPEG is very good quality after editing. YouTube.com adds compression and makes “action” blurred? YouTube is great for scenes that don’t change very fast from my limited knowledge.

The issues with YouTube may be temporary, In March at the beginning of the Corona/Covid-19/ quarantine/panic/the sky is falling nonsense, You Tube announced that they were temporarily reducing the resolution of all downloads to save bandwidth.
