Cessna 172 landing technique

Hello everyone,

I’m a relative new pilot. I’m flying a Cessna 172 N in Europe. She’s got a CD-155 engine. She still has 40 degrees of flaps. I’d like to train short landings to become a better Pilot. Do you have any recommendations on how to land the C172? I’m also interested in the best mods for the C172N.

Kind regards!

Re: Cessna 172 landing technique

The first thing I would recommend is to get several hours of Spin/Aerobatic training this will not only make you a safer pilot but allow you to safely slow down your plane for a proper short field landing. Do not watch Valdez STOL events or 10 ft sandbar landings in Alaska and think that is how it is done with everyday flying. Properly flown a 172 can be a very good performing aircraft in short field operations.
