Can't locate my notes, but I'm pretty sure my rear seat is 23 lbs. I fly a '53 170 B, but the seats are from a later model 172. Real classy too- brown vinyl, fuzzy upholstery, and gold piping for the trim.

Rear seat in my 53 170B was covered around 1995 or so, and weights approx 32 lbs. They had to have improved the weigh of the seat frame by the time the 172K rolled out though.

Half a century spent proving “it is better to be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt.”
I do weight and balance and do some with and some without back seat(s). Back seat -bench type will generally run 25-28 lbs. Only way to get it right is weigh it ---get shop or A&P to make out new Weight and Balance. Depending on aircraft and where it's happening W&B runs from $200-- to $500 bucks. I do single/Helicopters and experimental's as well as twins .Fuel Empty or Full your choice . Have scales and computer can travel .Usually take 2-3 hours and Hanger . If you have several aircraft same location/time I will give everyone a little brake +travel expenses .

Life is good. Life is better with wings.
My '67 T41B (same interior as a '67 172) weighs 21.6 pounds with Airtex covering. Rear seat belts are 2 pounds total.
