If you want to go up, pull back on the controls. If you want to go down, pull back farther.

I thought it was a little harsh also when I read it this morning, sure thought it was funny last night though :D

I was just surprised at all the criticism you were getting for thinking about getting your tires wet.
I think it is safer than some of the places we land at, or fly over?

I talked to a few people that had some experience with it before I tried it.

This was my second landing from the water, and it is not big tired Supercub slow either.

Re: Cessna 180 waterskiing

Didn't they put an altitude restriction over Lake Powell because some guy put his plane in the lake? He said he got disorientated but I wonder if he was trying to ski? #-o

Re: Cessna 180 waterskiing

Powell is a national recreation area, standard "pilots are requested to remain 2000 ft or higher". Also designated for float planes so maybe an exemption for take off and landing? I'm from CO and we can't land on any water here so I could be off on the float plane side.

"Colin
We were excited to heli in Silverton — until we saw the bird. Looking like something your stoner uncle built in the garage out of four Meccano sets, a fish tank, and an AMC Pacer, this helicopter seats a pilot plus two only, making it a tricky vehicle, logistics-wise, when your group has 8 people in it. Re: Cessna 180 waterskiing

I don't know about a 180, but a certain local homebuilt was seen the other day skiing the flooded farm fields pictured. The guy claims most do it on rivers or lakes, but hell this was handy and skied as good as the deeper stuff! Besides, the barbed wire fences and pivot lines made it more interesting, he said. :D Image
