Cessna 182K Firewall Reinforcement (Service Kit SK182-44C)
Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?
Please see the attached pictures of the firewall on a Cessna 182K and provide your thoughts on if you think the Firewall Reinforcement with Cessna Service Kit SK182-44C has been performed. The airplane logs are not specific in lisiting the repair if it was done.

Take a look at the drawings that the service kit comes with and its easy to see that the firewall braces are installed. The other parts are riveted on the backside of the firewall and a couple more angle brackets in the center pedestal with one extending past the first bulkhead going towards the rear of the floor structure. They are hidden pretty good, but you might be able to see the green primer on the non factory installed parts. I understand some airplanes past a certain Serial number came with the reinforcement kit installed from the factory so the color of the parts may not be green.

Thanks for the help, as you can see from the hat channel that is under the engine mount tubing, this reinforcement has been done on this airplane. The following link verifies this...

Check the tunnel area carefully for hidden damage. The damage happens when the firewall buckles, and can be missed during a repair. This may have been a repair, not just an upgrade.
