At present we have no stall scoop or horn on our Cessna A185E. We are going to install sportsman STOL kit.
Do you have aby tip what stall warning mechanism / lift indicator to install and where to buy it?

Well, to be legal, you don’t have much choice but to install the original stall warning system. I’d check salvage yards

Ya I'm curious how you dont have a stall system installed. Its required right in the TCDS. definitely have to go with the original to he legal, unless you have some kind of certification to have it removed...

Might be different rules in Prague.

Per TCDS 3A24 Rev. 40:
III. Model A185E, Skywagon and AGcarryall, 6 PCL-SM (Normal Category), approved September 24, 1965

Serial Numbers Eligible:
185-0968 through 185-1149 (1966 model)
185-1150 through 185-1300 (1967 model)
185-1301 through 185-1447 (1968 model)
185-1448 through 185-1599 (1969 model)
18501600 through 18501934 (1970 and 1971 models) 18501935 through 18502090 (1972 model)

Equipment:
The basic required equipment as prescribed in the applicable airworthiness regulations (see Certification Basis) must be installed in the aircraft for certification. This equipment must include a current Airplane Flight Manual effective S/N 18502300, 18503684 and on, and in addition the following item of equipment is required:
1. Stall warning indicator, Cessna Dwg. 0511062 through S/N 185-1197, and 185-1200.
2. Stall warning indicator, Cessna Dwg. 0700185 effective S/N 185-1198, 185-1199, and 185-1201 and on.

I suspect #1 is an electric vane switch which activates a panel light/horn (?) used in several early Cessnas while #2 is the more recent vacuum port that sucks air through a horn in the wing root.

If given a choice, I would be inclined toward the vane type.
If the stall horn blows at too fast or too slow an airspeed,
you can tweak the vane to fine tune it.
I think that with the suction horn type,
what you get is what you get-- period.

It's been a few since I looked closely but I think both sensors are adjustable up and down the leading edge to fine tune. But as I say it's been at least three years since I heard one on a Sportsman cuff. I copied some below that look adjustable.

Thanks for the reply. Our C185 is the first one in the Czech civil aviation authority register, so there is limited experience on both mechanic and authority side. I hoped there might me some alternative solution with STC. Now I understand that there is not.
We have S/N 1740, so as Gary mentioned I need to find vacuum based horn.

The electric vane is adjustable, though internally not like the picture above of the plate on the outside (on my 170 wing). I found with my Sportsman install that the radius of the leading edge where the vane now goes is tighter than the original and the mounting plate needs to be rebent to fit the new shape. As a result I think it would be fairly difficult to actually move it much. The jig that Sportsman supply makes it easy to get the vane where it should be.

The stall characteristics have changed so much that the horn is more of a "guideline" now. You will love the way it flys.

You can always out a little bend in the vane itself. Worked for my C150TD.

Maybe someone could help the OP Egerberk by suggesting salvage sources like MTV noted. I don't have one in mind as never dealt with them. If he can source a few resellers maybe that will be a start.

Any suggestions for where to start looking?
