Cessna back lap belts

I have the Atlee Dodge jump seats and my seat belts and fittings are shot and ugly.

Atlee Dodge doesn't sell replacements, and the shop I use for Cirrus belts doesn't have parts to rebuild them.

Anyone replace these belts lately?

I think WagAero is gone now, but I believe their subsidiary Aero Fabricators might still be in business.
They've advertised seatbelt re-webbing services in the past.
Pretty sure there's some other outfits that do this also.

Re: Cessna back lap belts

I tried the shop that re-webs Cirrus Seat belts for me (C&M Aviation Marine) and they didn't like how corroded the end fittings were, and we aren't sure where to get the steel triangular end fittings. They also would be at $800 plus end fittings if we could find them.

Re: Cessna back lap belts

That yellow one looks like it came from a length of Harbor Freight tow strap

We can chat about this directly later, but one option might be finding an outfit in Duluth or the cities that can do industrial sewing on webbing, and have all new webbing created to desired length. It's not exactly a science.

The replacement hardware can be purchased new, or you could have those restored.

Not in stock til July but some similar ones are. But they have the wrong type of end fittings on the outboard side.

Re: Cessna back lap belts

I haven't been able to find the triangular end fittings anywhere.

I have a FAA approved shop that can sew belting on.

I am just surprised nobody makes these things and you basically have to find all the parts and have your own made from scratch.

Re: Cessna back lap belts

I found them!

Alpha Aviation (who I've never heard of) has them in stock for $235 per seat and they come with paperwork.

I'm surprised Amsafe doesn't have them.

Re: Cessna back lap belts

BAS gave me this information when I purchased retractable shoulder harnesses for my 1955 skywagon a few years ago (April 2022). They sell custom made new rear lap belts with all new TSO'd hardware for $160 standard or $195 for adjustable on both side lap belts. They recommended another two shops to send in your old hardware to re-web. Here was their recommendation to re-web the rear belts.

--------------------
What you would be ordering for us, is completely new TSO’d seatbelts, so you would have all new fittings. If you would like to look into getting your current rear belts re webbed to match, you can contact:

Re: Cessna back lap belts

Just read an online article about rewebbing that might be helpful:
