I did. He said Tipsy may have borrowed the Cessna, but he wouldn't cop to anything.

Re: Cessna on I-80 Nevada, Again

I always did it that way. If I thought I was nearly out of gas, I landed and took my gas can to get more. Amazing how many people will give you a ride when you land on the road.

Call me crazy but I just land at an airport and get more fuel before it gets to that point.

Re: Cessna on I-80 Nevada, Again

Could it be a stranded motorist had run out of gas, barely made it into the rest area and then some cessna 182 flying, mogas burning, good samaritan landed, drained some fuel into his ever ready fiver, got the mother with three children going again and then flew off into the sunset? Things are not always as they appear. :P

Re: Cessna on I-80 Nevada, Again

1) Is there a published CTAF frequency for I-80?

2) Maybe they should paint X's on the hughway every 1/2 mile or so?

Now that Tim is gettin' up there in years it's probably time to install a low on gas idiot light on the panel. 32 miles until empty.

I just talked to Tim -on his way to Brandington Oregon with trailer full of "stuff" -said the I-80 landing wasn't his this time - Says Tipsy is on short leash so maybe not her. Tim has road map of all the "sticky buns -pie stops " mapped out.

Here is my plane at Columbia fly in with me and the Trophy Girl

Yes they are both blue strait tail 182's (best plane ever made). Just cus you land on that difficult air strip one time does not mean you will try it a second time. I have bagged that one.

Now of course Gump posted this on my time line on facebook. All my non flying friends that I went to high school with have seen this and a few have sent private messages suggesting that because my brain will be 70 years old in a month and a half that maybe I should take up another hobby like collecting stamps.

I can thank Gump again for spreading bum dope about me.

And who has a 57 or 58 182 with the last three numbers of 64D. Fess up, you are among friends. And now in an exclusive club. Maybe Rob Burson can print up some tee shirts for us.

Wow, beautiful trophy girl. It kinda reminds me of the plane they auction off at the Alaska Airmans show every year. It doesn't matter if we have the winning ticket most of us old guys can't afford the taxes.

Re: Cessna on I-80 Nevada, Again

playing with numbers on the FAA site, it looks like the plane is either N4064D,a private owner out of San Diego, or N5064D, Pershing flying service in Lovelock. This photo is reasonably close to Lovelock. #-o

Tim, that's a great picture of you and your great great great great grand-daughter.

Nice to see people trying to get young kids into aviation.
