Cessna R172K Hawk XP II Brake Upgrade
Have problems with your aircraft? Maybe just questions about how best to tune or adjust something? Regs or maintenance? Need to know the best way to do something?
I am looking to put some new shoes on my Hawk XP II and I am having trouble getting a definitive answer from multiple shops! I understand that if I go with >26" ABW on the mains, I may need (paperwork says I DO need) a heavy duty brake upgrade. So, do I need that or dont I? If yes, WHO makes it? I cant seem to find the R172K listed on their double piston systems. I am sure someone here has done this before!
Thanks
Ned

I would give Alaska Airframes a call. I am sure they will have an answer for you.

I havent read the STC instructions but...
If the STC says you need certain brakes then you do.
Unless you get the feds to sign off a field approval on a deviation.
