Field approval, an IA friend handled that for me.
A nutplate in the aft doorpost is required, the seat bolts to that and to the nutplate used for the stock bench seat side attach.
You also need seatbelt attach points.
I used the nutplate in the floor for the stock bench seat aft attach for the inboard belt attach,
and for the outboard attach I installed a brownline type cargo ring pad.
If I was to do it over again, I would use the (Cessna) parts called out in the BAS jumpseat install instructions for the outboard attaches.
They're tabs that rivet in between a bulkhead & the skin (see below).

Thank you Hitrod for all of the info.

Would anyone happen to have a pictures of how they are mounted on the floor?

Re: Cessna Rear Seats

FWIW... the pic that was posted is not a Cessna seat, thats a Lakeview. The Lakeview seat is pretty flimsy when compared with the Atlee, both in build quality and safety. Its also a bit Rube Goldbergy as to how its installed and then stowed. For my money, it would be either a stock Cessna seaplane jumpseat or Atlee. Seat installs are fairly serious, so be careful about backyard engineering. Best bet is to follow STC installs or Clyde's drawings.

I have installed several Atlee jumps and they are solid. If you want utility, nothing beats the Dodge. If you want comfort for your pax, keep the stock Cessna bench.

Thanks for the info Bigrenna. We have a set of the Cessna jump seats that we picked up real cheap that is the main reason that they will get installed. Most flights with passengers in the back are no more than 2 hours and that would be the max most of the time. I will take a look at the parts book and see what I can come up with.

Has anyone have any pictures of their install they can share?

Re: Cessna Rear Seats

I believe the Atlee-Dodge jumpseat seatbelts clip to the same cargo rails that the seats attach to.
The BAS / Lakevue belts attach to stock Cessna fittings.
From the STC install instructions:
LH = p/n 0711084-15
RH= p/n 0711084-16
center (floor) = p/n -711083-1

Here's a pic from those instructions:

and here's a shot of my installation, using a slightly-modified stock bracket:

I'd take a look at the late model 180/185 IPC to verify p/n's,
it should provide some guidance.
If your local FAA dude is field-approval friendly, it should be pretty cut-and-dried,
as you'd basically be duplicating the stock 185 installation.

Re: Cessna Rear Seats

The stock Cessna seat belt center attach bracket, p/n 0711083-1, is kind of a hinge-looking thing.
Here's a pic.

It bolts to the nutplate in the floor structure where the rear (centerline) bench seat bracket normally goes.
It would work well for bolt-on fittings on the seat belt ends,
but for clip-on ends like I have on mine...not so much.
I slightly modified the bracket to work better with those.
