Cessna Secondary Seat Stops
Have problems with your aircraft? Maybe just questions about how best to tune or adjust something? Regs or maintenance? Need to know the best way to do something?
I have been on a waiting list for the Cessna certified secondary (strap type) seat stops. These are the ones that came out some time ago, and then a stop was put out to fix a problem that popped up. Anyway, I just got a call from my shop that the new improved ones are in now. I'm having my seat done on Monday the 20th at Thun field in Puyallup, and Cessna is still picking up the bill for something like 3 hours shop time and the parts. This window of time where Cessna will pick up the bill will end in a few months.

I know there are others here that didn't like the new "fix" when Cessna came out with these strap type stops. I have them installed in a C-172 and they have worked great, there operation is transparent and I like them way better than the old latch type.
Just my $0.02, I think you will like them and the price is right!!

I agree with Low. I don't even know what changes the "new" kit has but I have had no issues with the original.

Hi, is there any chance you can share the process that your shop went thought to get the parts and the labour paid for, as my shop don't seem to know about it. Is there a contact at cessna, or a certain process that needs to be followed?
thanks in advance

Jabiru22,
Just call Cessna and they will tell you where you can go to get it done. It has to be done at a "CESSNA" dealer/certified repair station if I remember correctly. When I called there was only one shop nearby that could do it.

Definitely keep us posted on this new and improved stop. I wasn't really crazy about the seat belt style stop they were using so I bought these for my skywagon
http://www.aerostop.net/ . If the new one you are getting seem better I may have to finally find the time to get my bird up to Erie, CO to have it done. Main problem for me is they are an hour away and only open during the week and you have to leave your plane.

Also note that the period for Cessna footing the bill is coming to a close soon. Don't quote me on this but I think the free install runs out around the end of this year.

On the seat stops, Call Doug Gadwa or Tom at Interstate Aviation in Pullman WA. They are a Cessna dealer, he can order yours. As I understand it,They can send to your shop and have your shop install, Cessna has a set rate they will pay for each kind of Cessna. He has some for my 195 when I get back there. 509-332-6596. Its a freebie and works well.
Have fun, and keep smilin

Had mine put on the pilot side a couple weeks ago. Don't know if they work or not my seat hasn't slipped yet so I guess it works?
