Cessna sling rear seat?
Have problems with your aircraft? Maybe just questions about how best to tune or adjust something? Regs or maintenance? Need to know the best way to do something?
Who here has a sling rear seat in their C-180/185, and who manufactured it? Are they still available to anyone's knowledge or is it getting to be
a field approval only item? Been searching for one out of a parted out aircraft but no luck. I am aware of BAS and Lakeview folding rear seats but was wanting to go the other route. Info would be helpful. Thanks

Fairbanks Aero Services made them for the 170, but I don't know if they were ever approved in the 180. That seat is listed on the TC for the 170. The outfit has been out of business for many years.
To the best of my knowledge, the dimensions of that part of the plane should be the same for the 170 and 180.
The one I had in my 170 is the only one I've ever seen, but there must be a few around.

I have a rear sling seat in my 180. It is a very uncomfortable seat. I'll look who made it next time I'm at the plane.

One showed up on Alaska List in the past few days, brackets only with no canvas. Not mine btw.

I would second the comfort rating. Your passengers will not like these seats.

I actually had Alaska Tent and Tarp make a new canvas sling for mine....pretty easy.

But probably no more comfortable... I've sat in those, and they are miserable after a very short period. And I don't even want to think about what happens in a high-vertical-rate-of-descent incident.

Cargo-Pass in Anchorage produced one, STC # SA651AL.
I have a copy of (some of) the STC paperwork which I got from the 180/185 Club a couple years ago.
PM me with your email & I'll send it to you.

Rear seats on a Stinson are sling. They are comfortable. Front seats not so much.
