Champ 8.50 337

Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?

Champ 8.50 337

I'm looking to put 8.50s on my champ and looking for a copy of a 337 field approval to put 8.50s on a 7AC or 7BCM. If anyone has one or knows of where I could locate a copy, it would be greatly appreciated.

A local search result:

https://backcountrypilot.org/forum/337- ... ions-24998

This makes the argument that a 4-ply 8.50x6 is approved via STC for anything on type cert A-759. That would mean the Desser 8.50x6 Aero Classics are approved.

Thanks Z, I saw that thread and researched that STC. I don't see how that STC would work for an early champ, STC SA3019WE states the it's only for 7ECA GCAA 7GCBC 7KCAB. The largest tires listed in A-759 are 8.00

Our mechanic agrees with Z. Ran Desser 8.50 smoothies for a couple of years on our 7DC Champ. New owner took them off while flying off pavement and decided they wore so well he put them back on.

I see that now. Maybe it's close enough. They're just tires. All the letters are contained in the STC. I found a 7, an "A" and a "C". Send it! 8)

Re: Champ 8.50 337

Thanks guys! I found STC SA4305WE, which allows me to put Gar-Aero adapters with Air Hawk 29x11-10 tires or 8.50x10 tires. I should be able to submit this STC along with the previous mentioned one to get a field approval.
