Charlotte,NC -> Nashville,TN -> New Orleans,LA

So the subject tells the general route. Does anyone have suggestions for things to stop and see, places to eat, etc.?

Taking the Citabria down to my work site for the next 6months and looking to make a 2 day trip out of it.

Thanks in advance for any replies.

I like to stop in Hendersonville NC (just south of Asheville). That's a short leg for you from Charlotte but there is an aviation museum there that has events occasionally.

South of Nashville in Tullahoma, TN is the Beechcraft museum. Worth a stop.

I've never been there but Moontown airport near Huntsville, AL is supposed to be a good place to visit.

Thanks kg. I am sure we can make at least one of those stops. Know of any good places for lunch/dinner?

Corky's in Memphis. World's best BBQ.

There is also a warbird museum at my home airport east of Knoxville, TN. I've never been to it, but I see them out flying fairly often. It's always a good day when you are sharing the pattern with a P-47 Thunderbolt. Anyway, here is the link if you want to see if it is worth checking out: http://www.tnairmuseum.com/

Oh, an we have a Corky's BBQ in town as well, Less than 10 mins from the airport. I agree, it's pretty darn good.

If you decide to stop here, give me a shout if you want some company to check out the museum or need a ride to lunch. I'm a freelance photographer, so my schedule is usually pretty flexible.
