Re: Cherokee eats cessna 180

I was wondering if any fuel came out of the torn up wing. That could have been a mess with fuel flying!

The fuel on the early 180's like that one is inboard of the strut, unless they added some other tanks to it.

Zane, are you keeping your plane now? I have a set of legs from our 54 180 that I swapped for 185 legs a couple years ago.

Man oh man, that is ugly. I would think Beegles would be the best plane for this bird to land. They would make that damage disappear. :D

Yep. If you want to own one, I know where you can get one cheap. You may have to apply for a loan from the Fed Bank to get it flying but you can buy it cheap.

And, most of the AN-2s in this country do not have airworthiness certificates. The FAA put a halt to the mass influx of those things right after the fall of the Soviet Union.

ahhhh don't tempt me! My buddy's Dad used to fly those in Russia as his first flying job up in the North of Siberia (basically Backcountry) landing on frozen rivers, floats, skis, etc...we came up with a business idea to buy one put it on floats and disappear to Belize and have his Dad train us on it!!!
